SQL Drop Table
The SQL DROP TABLE Statement
An existing table in a database can be dropped using the DROP TABLE statement.
Syntax
DROP TABLE table_name;
Note: Exercise caution when lowering a table. All of the data contained in a table will be lost if it is deleted!
SQL DROP TABLE Example
The table “Shippers” is dropped using the SQL command that follows:
Example
DROP TABLE Shippers;
SQL TRUNCATE TABLE
A table’s contents can be removed using the TRUNCATE TABLE statement, but the table itself cannot be removed.

TRUNCATE TABLE table_name;
