Excel CONCAT Function

Concatenation is the process of joining two objects.

Excel has a function called CONCAT, which stands for concatenate.

Without introducing any separators between the total cell values, the CONCAT function is utilized to connect several cells.

The typeface is =CONCAT.

					=CONCAT(cell1, delimiter, cell2)

Note: To separate content items from one another, use delimiters, which are spaces or symbols.

Example of delimiters

					comma , semicolon ; quotes " or ' braces {} pipes | slashes / \

Information: The CONCAT function is an updated version of the CONCATENATE function. The ancient CONCATENATE function is only compatible with older versions of Excel, hence it is not supported by more recent versions of the program. In the most recent versions of Excel, use CONCAT instead of COCATENATE.

How to Use CONCAT Function

Use CONCAT to combine values from several Excel cells.

Note: A symbol, such as a comma or semicolon, is used to separate the various components of the function;

The symbol is determined by your language preferences.

Step 2) Link cells

4. Select a cell (A2)

5. Add a comma (,)

6. Add a space inside of quotation marks to create a delimiter (” “)

7. Select another cell (A3)

8. Hit enter

Note: There are no delimiters offered by the CONCAT function to separate the cell values it uses. You must include the delimiters in between the cells you have chosen if you want your cell values to be shown with them. Any symbol can be used as a demiliter; for example, enter ” “ to make the delimiter a space.
