Table Design
With just a few clicks, tables can be styled and altered.
“Table Design” is the menu that becomes accessible when converting a range into a table.
When you select a cell within the range of the table, the menu displays.
This menu includes commands and settings like:
- Resize
- Remove duplicates
- Convert to range
- Style options (Total row, Header row, Banded row etc..)
- Formatting
Table Name
Tables in Excel come with preset names like Table 1, Table 2, Table 3, and so on.
Note: The Excel online version does not allow for table renaming.
The Table Design tab contains the table’s name.
- Select the table
- Click the Table design menu
- See the name input field
Note: When you have multiple tables in a workbook and need to refer to them in calculations, it helps to know the table names.
