The Dark Web

The Internet contains a network known as The Dark Web, or simply The Dark Net, that can only be accessed using specific software and protocols.

There are several names for the Dark Web, such as Onion Router or Tor Network.

By only downloading the necessary software, anyone can gain access to the Dark Web. The Tor Browser from the Tor Project is a well-liked and often used browser.

This browser functions exactly like any other, precisely like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, with the exception that it can visit unique website addresses that finish in.onion rather than.com or other extensions.

Traffic delivered via the Tor Browser is instantly encrypted and anonymised across several hosts. Additionally, the browser comes with built-in de-anonymization and tracking protection.

Accessing The Dark Web

With this browser, you can visit a lot of entertaining and educational websites, many of which are also present on the standard Internet. You can use the Tor Browser to access the following URLs, for instance, and your communications on the Dark Web will be completely encrypted and anonymous:

  • Facebook – http://www.facebookcorewwwi.onion/
  • DuckDuckGo Search Engine – http://3g2upl4pq6kufc4m.onion/
  • The American CIA (“Central Intelligence Agency”) -http://ciadotgov4sjwlzihbbgxnqg3xiyrg7so2r2o3lt5wz5ypk4sxyjstad.onion
  • The Hidden Wiki, a collection of links and places to explore – http://zqktlwiuavvvqqt4ybvgvi7tyo4hjl5xgfuvpdf6otjiycgwqbym2qad.onion/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Many illicit websites, shops, and networks can be found on the Dark Net due to its inherent anonymizing capabilities and encryption.

Note: When using the Dark Net, please use caution. The aforementioned links are only functional with the relevant software.
